He is a Chemical Engineer with a post- degree in food science and technology and another in plastics conversion technologies.
He works in Buenos Aires at the National Institute of Industrial Technology (INTI) – Plastics Center of Argentina (of which he was Director from 2002 to 2007) and teaches food packaging at public and private Universities and at the Argentine Packaging Institute.
He represents INTI at the MERCOSUR Food Packaging Group since 1991, and at the Argentine Institute of Standardization and Certification (IRAM).
He has been national coordinator of Iberoamerican packaging projects and belongs to the Global Harmonization Initiative scientific group (with headquarters in Vienna).
He is author and co-author of chapters of books (in Spanish and English) on FCMs sanitary issues. He is also involved in evaluating recycled PET for food applications, in developing standards and regulations on this topic for Latin American countries, and in training Latin American professionals and government officials on FCMs sanitary aspects and regulations.
